After arriving at Quinton House the girls were very excited to be playing their first ever netball match in a sports hall. There was some initial struggle with the number of different coloured lines on the court but they managed to cope once in the game. The 'A' team were playing first and they started well but soon found themselves unable to get the ball out of their defending third. Quinton had a number of chances to score and eventually finished the first half 1-0 in the lead. The second half saw Quinton grow in confidence and The Grove struggle to maintain any possession of the ball. When they did get the ball into their attacking third with some excellent passing and moving from Alexa O’Kane and Schechinah Filani they rushed the opportunities they had to score. The final score was a 6-0 loss.
The 'B' team played next and although it was a much more competitive game the girls found themselves defending for most of both halves with very little possession past the middle third of the court. They did have a few chances to score but failed to capitalise which was a shame as that would have put Quinton under more pressure and could have secured a possible win or draw. Darasimi Lawal as goal keeper played very well in the second half after a talk at half-time and she really used her height advantage, intercepting a number of passes into the circle. The final score ended as a 2-0 loss but both goals were scored in the first half so there was a massive improvement thereafter with Harini Sivavakeesar creating more space and receiving a number of passes in the defending and centre third.
