U10/11 Hockey vs Quinton House School

It's the first fixture of the season and we are all very excited. The whistle blows with Quinton House starting with the first push back, they have most of the possession of the ball but with great defending from Dabira Filani and Arianna Vieceli Fitch it was hard for them to get to the goal. Sadly they got through somehow and at half time it was 1-0 to Quinton House.

Second half and we have made a substitution, Sophie Hartley-Wiley has come on as left wing and running up and down the pitch, with some great tackles, and an injury. Sophie got up and still carried on playing, getting herself player of the match, well done Sophie. There was some great play from both sides and The Grove definitely had most of the procession in the second half. Some great attacks on goal from Alexa O'Kane and brilliant saves in goal from our goalkeeper Alice Alder. It was a great first match and well done to everyone who took part. Very proud!

Also a big thank you to all the parents that came down to support us.

The U10/U11's 'B' Team had a fantastic result against Quinton House School, winning 3-0. For their first game of the term, they played some lovely connective hockey. Vera and Chloe were rock sold in defence resulting in Quinton only having one shot on Chibugom in Goal, who made a brilliant save. Our midfield players of Regan, Hannah and Chiemenem work tirelessly up and down the pitch, creating some great attacking chances for Darasimi at Centre Forward. We had two excellent team goals with Darasimi and Hannah both getting on the score sheet. Our last goal came from some good pressure on the Quinton defence, resulting in them scoring an own goal. Overall I was extremely proud of the girls effort and team work. A special mention should go to Chiemenem who thoroughly deserved getting player of the match. A great result, well done to all the girls involved.
