Children enter the prep department at the beginning of the school year in which they become eight years of age.
Each group of no more than sixteen children has its own form tutor and is subject taught by specialist staff in all areas of the curriculum.
Pupils are carefully grouped within their subject classes to ensure all pupils are stretched.
In the prep department our philosophy is to marry the best of traditional with modern teaching methods. To this end, one period a day is still devoted to the basic skills attained from the "three R's" whilst the expanded curriculum now includes the core subjects:
English, Maths, Science, History, Geography, French, Spanish, ICT, Art and Technology, Music, Sport, R.E, Study Skills and Current Affairs.
